    Emotive and informative
The European Museum was one of the highlights of my trip to Luxembourg. Free entry and extremely accessible (no bad feelings about walking in, then out, then back in when you want to), there was so much information about the formation of the Schengen area and what goes into maintaining a Europe without borders. The layout of the museum was also very friendly and relaxing, which is rare in a museum. The information leaflets available at the entrance were a fun addition, and interesting to read once I'd gotten home. Some of them are definitely aimed more at children than adults, but they made a nice souvenir.

    Interesting and educational
Another afternoon trip with our "Seniors" club last week which proved to be a very interesting visit to this unique location. A milestone in the history of the European Union this small town on the river Moselle where the borders of Luxembourg, Germany and France meet was the location where the Schengen Agreement was signed in 1985 for the first stages of free movement and open borders within the EU. The museum and the surrounding monuments relating to this are well worth a visit if you are interested in the politics and history of the EU. The museum while very small is only a part and guided tours are available of the surroundings etc. as part of the service. Not the best of days weather wise for our visit so would suggest a better time would be in the Summer months. Well worth a visit if you want to spend a few hours in the area and hop in and out of the three countries in a very short time, Germany is just a short walk across the bridge over the Moselle river. There is also the possibility of taking a boat trip Northwards on the river if you intend to make a day of it. Entrance to the museum is free and there is cafeteria adjacent to the entrance where you can get something to eat and drink. A nice cool beer or glass of wine on a warm summers day is more than welcome. There is also a souvenir shop opposite on the bank of the Moselle river for EU memorabilia.
