Excellent place for an afternoon hike around the lake
Lovely at this time of the year and I supposed any times of the year indeed. Beautiful, well organized, easy to explore community space. Echternach Lake welcomes families and people of every age. We have seen many fisherman and some day campers. Nice play areas for kids. Nicely landscaped, many lovely bridges, interesting plants. The real highlight is the Roman Villa where the entrance is free both to the small museum and to the estate area. In rainy weather we hit periodically from the drizzles under the trees and gazebos. Relaxing walk around the lake and exploring the Roman Villa all under 5K. Pleasant restaurants to stop for a snack or drink. The local portion of St James trail is near-by . A convenient Hostel for hikers is located in the Echternach Lake park.

Bikes, a fun way to see Echternach
Echternach is a beautiful little village with a lot of sights to see. We were on a day trip from Luxembourg...bus 110. We walked up from the village to the lake. Lots of things to do here... great for families. Here we hired city bikes for 12euo each from the youth hostel. Great bikes in good condition. It's a lovely ride around the lake and into the village where we got a self guided tour brochure from the tourist office... easy to see these on the bikes. Also the Mullerthal trail is here and you can go as far as you like on that with your bike.
