Visit to Satpara Lake
On the way to Deosai planes, comes this majestic lake called SATPARA LAKE. Lake is just about 25 mins drive fro. Skardu City towards Deosai Planes. This lake has two ends that one can enjoy its view. One end is where dam is constructed while the other end is where it starts. There is a PTDC motel on lake but unfortunately the motel is not active and cannot be accessed as it is closed. One thing which all visistors would agree that is probably the most quiet place in Skardu..... Just amazing

Ethereal Lake of Skardu
Sadpara aka Satpara Lake used to be a lake and a key source of water supply for Skardu city but now a Dam has been constructed on it . Still its very scenic . And if you are going just to see it then best time is in afternoon or early morning . you will get amazing photographs . Avoid going in mid day ! For those going to Deosai this is the first sight seeing stop .

Satpara Lake: One of the few places where construction has improved the beauty of the region
Satpara is a short distance from Skardu. Decades ago, we visited this beautiful area while on our way from Skardu to Deosai.... It was beautiful then. However, we visited this area last year, and the construction of a dam some time ago has deepened the lake, made it more prominent against the rocky terrain surrounding the lake and has created a serene beauty around the region. We were very pleased to see that a man-made cement jungle has not spoiled the beauty of the area- on the contrary it has enhanced the beauty.
