Lake day with family

We rented a pontoon boat on July 13th originally but the weather showed a greater chance of rain this day. No issue at all to change the date to July 14th after sending an email. The pontoon boat was great…a Bentley and Teresa was very informative and walked us through the entire process. We thought when we rented there is no way we’ll spend the entire time on the lake…but we did. It’s beautiful surrounded by mountains and the water was refreshing. We took our lunch and had plenty of snacks and water to drink. It was really a fun filled day that we all enjoyed. Also not a large crowd of people on the lake which made us feel we had it all to ourselves. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Luxury but make it affordable
We rented a 30 foot Tritoon pontoon boat for a full day on Labor Day weekend. There were three couples and three children under 2 yo. The boat was immaculate. Everything worked! When have you been on a rental boat where everything worked!? Even the bluetooth connection worked! The slide has a built-in pump and was great fun. The boat was big enough for all the people and all the things and there was still room for the kids to run around on the completely enclosed lower deck. The owner/operator has rules about using the boat and navigating the lake. These rules are based on the features of the lake and were very helpful to us, since we had never been on this lake. The lake is manmade and very deep with lots of underwater trees near the shore. So, we stayed away from shore and never anchored. The lake was beautiful and the water was cool but not cold. There was a good amount of boat traffic because of the holiday. But we never felt crowded. The owners were conscientious about following social distancing protocol. The check-in process was outdoors on a covered porch. Everyone wore masks. It is clear that the owner/operator cares about the way he manages his business and the quality of the boats he rents. We would definitely rent from Carters Lake Marina again.

Away in a peaceful setting for awhile
My son and I had a great experience. We brought our own boat and trolled for Walleye and Striped Bass. The highlight was a 20# Stripped Bass, which we released. We stayed in one of the Lake Side Cabins for 2 nights. They are old log cabins but very well maintained and clean. A wonderful porch with rocking chairs overlooking the lake. We grilled some steaks over the charcoal grill and supplemented them with potatoes and salads from the restaurant. The next night we ordered pizzas and salads from the restaurant to be delivered to the cabin as we returned from fishing. Lunches at the restaurant. Everyone here is very accommodating. Yes, we would return and stay in the same cabin.
