City Hall, Gelderland Province, The Netherlands
3.5 (13 reviews) Spent Ranking #10 in Wageningen Historic Sites • Government Buildings
one of the few old buildings in Wageningen left
It is sad that old Wageningen was virtually completely destroyed during the 2nd World War, but this gem remains. We were unable to go inside as we were there too late, but it gives a feel for the sort of buildings the town had in past centuries. It was a special trip for me because me great-grandfather and his whole family for generations came from Wageningen, and it gave me a peep into the past.

Historical landmark
When visiting Wageningen the town square is a must visit, and here you’ll find both The City Hall and The Grote Kerk. The City Hall survived the destruction of the city in World War II, and is an important landmark of the history of Wageningen. This is also the place where you register as inhabitant if you stay in Wageningen 4 months or more.

The old city hall
The city hall is located near to a great church in the city center. It is a well-preserved building even though the new city hall has already been finished. The city hall is one of the city landmarks and always be the identity of the city.
