The best museum about Battle of Arnhem

The museum was completely renewed in 2019/2020. The monumental Hartenstein Villa was the headquarters of the British Airborne Division during the Battle of Arnhem (1944). Here, the stories of British, Polish and German soldiers come to life. Civilians also play an important role. Come and see our collection of authentic weaponry, documents, footage and photographs. The new multilingual audio tour provides 50 exhibits with personal background stories. Historian and bestseller author Antony Beevor voiced the English audio tour. In the underground Airborne Experience you will be transported into the very midst of the battle.

    Well worth a visit
We enjoyed our visit to the Museum which is well thought out and put together. The experience is a reminder of how awful war is and how it impacts so dreadfully on so many people’s lives. Our visit took an hour and a half and we ended it with a lovely (reasonably priced) Cappuccino in the small cafe.

    History of the British Paratroopers
This museum tells the story of the British Paratroopers during Operation Market Garden. There is parking next to the restaurant. In several rooms you can see items from the battles around the building that houses the museum. There is also a temporary exhibition. The best part is in the underground Airborne Experience where you board a glider and go on a mission... Outside is a food truck where you can grab a beer and a pastini.
