    To go back in time
This is one of my favourite places to be always. It is great for a day out and offers authentic views, buildings and most importantly food. Etarat is the first of its kinf open museum in Bulgaria and was opened for the public in 1964. The originals of buildings in the museum can be seen all around the city if Gabrovo but replicas were built in order to show to the people what was life in the past. And indeed, you can feel that the place is alive. The best sugar roosters can be found there. But if you go, do try the sand coffee, it is so good!

    A taste of traditional Bulgaria
In this cultural complex, you get to see traditional houses, try out traditional food/snacks, handmade tools, and see people dressed in traditional clothing. The complex is rather large - good enough for you to spend a couple of hours there. If you're on a tour with a car, it's not difficult to get there. It's on the way to many other bigger cities/tourist attractions. Overall speaking, this complex is suitable for adults or families to see.
