Fascinating tour and wonderful tasting
This really is a must do on Vlieland. The tour is wonderful and the cheese maker very kind and understanding. He offered a special tour for us in English and explained his processes. The history of the bunker is also interesting. He was also very generous in answering all our questions. The bonus is tasting the different cheeses - they are truly wonderful. We loved the seaweed cheese and the robust jersey cheese the best. Of course we bought some to take away.

Interesting and different
I only visited the main building; didn’t take the tour. The information boards are all in Dutch but the very helpful gentleman has some laminated information sheets in several languages; it was really interesting to read about the history of the cheese bunker, and how the cheese is made. Unfortunately I had forgotten to bring cash to buy some samples and they don’t accept MasterCard or Visa, but the man told me from where in the village I could buy it.
