Invention Vineyards' winery and tasting room feature sweeping views of 35 acres of working vineyards and the hillsides beyond. Guided tastings and estate tours are offered Thursday - Monday. Invention Vineyards was recently acquired by Heath Family Brands, which includes Grape Creek Vineyards and Heath Sparkling Wines. The tasting room will remain open during renovations. Come see the transformation! Invention Vineyards is 21 , allows ADA Service Animals only, and accepts groups of 6 or less.

Unpretentious and laid back
We stopped by on a very chilly weekend in April and ended up staying for a while. What struck us immediately on walking in was the friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. That's not the case with every winery in Fredericksburg, so this was a treat. The people at the tables around us seemed to know the staff and you could see the friendly interactions. They don't have a lot of staff so you can wait sometimes because they will actually take the time to talk to you about the wine, what you like, etc., which we did not experience anywhere else in Fredericksburg. We ended up joining the wine club, not because there was pressure to do it, but because we genuinely enjoyed all the wine we tried (red tasting and rose tasting), and we spent a lovely afternoon doing it. The food from the food truck was delicious. We can't wait to hang out there the next time we are Fredericksburg!

Great way to spend a birthday
What a great way to spend my birthday. My husband and another couple stopped by on the way to Fredericksburg and had a really wonderful time. Charlie, the owner, did our tour and we were educated while also experiencing a relaxing event with some great and not so great wines. But that's why we were there. He told us if we didn't like something to just pour it down the drain. He did a great job of explaining each wine as we tasted it and answered tons of questions from our group. He even told us a little about the history of the place.
