Enjoy the scenery
Enjoy the scenery of the Davis Mountains. Great hiking trails. Be sure to drive the scenic Skyline Drive. Pay an additional fee for late night access to Skyline Drive for phenomenal night time stargazing

Remote and beautiful
Having hiked most of the moderate trails, we recommend the Indian Lodge and Montezuma Trails. Also at least part of the Skyline Drive and the Limpia Creek Trails. Would love to do the Old CCC trail to Fort Davis, but would need to leave transportation at the other end. The films shown at the small Interpretive Center are well worth a stop. During limited pandemic times, the center is still open each day. Rangers are available for private trail guidance and info; just phone them. Daytime weather in early December can be perfect in the 50s for hiking.
