    A fun diversion
Love taking the St Johns River Ferry! Sometimes we just go across and come right back. It's a very quick ride and depending on the tides will depend on the excitement of your ferry trip. If the tides are strong, the ferry boat seems to be going into the dock sideways but the captain always manages to ever-so-gently touch the dock as he makes it look really easy to "right" that thing into the docking area! And of course the pelicans and other seabirds, sometimes there are dolphins or very large ships to watch going in and out of the harbor.

Great way to get to Amelia Island
Loved doing this. We drove from Jax Beach to Amelia Island via the Ferry. It was great! It was short but scenic and saves a lot of time if you're trying to get to Amelia Island from Jacksonville. Wish it stayed open later in the evening, as I believe the last boat off Amelia is 7pm. Will definitely do this again! I was surprised how many cars there were able to get on it!
