I took a 2-hour sunset cruise with Captain Gary and it was a wonderful experience. I was traveling solo and one advantage of going through Smallwood Store was that visiting the museum offered an opportunity to meet and team up with another solo traveler (so we could share the minimum cost). Gary is patient, kind, knowledgeable, skilled, funny, and great company. He's part of a historic family in the area, which adds a lot to the experience, and he knows a lot about wildlife. He also takes great joy in wildlife, which adds to everyone's enjoyment. Do it! Sign up!

No better way to see the 10,000 islands!
This was our third year booking an eco tour with Smallwood Store. 4 adults and two children under 7 had a great time despite a cool and damp day. The dolphins came out to play, saw beautiful shells and the white pelicans did their sky dance. Captain Gary is the best-great history stories, explanations of the environment, and friendly captain. Will definitely return!

Make sure to demand a text receipt!
We had a good trip. My husband always enjoys boat rides. We didn't see any dolphins, but we did see some birds. I would suggest that you demand a text receipt as we did. The company would not email me a receipt, saying that it was not possible. When we showed up for our sunset boat tour on Dec. 31, we were told at the Smallwood Store that there was no evidence of our reservation and that it was New Year's eve. When we showed our text receipt on our phone, they called someone to take us. Our captain Gary was asked to take us after he just finished another boat tour. He was tight on gas for our trip. I definitely got the feeling that our sunset tour was a surprise for him! It would have been nice to have had more confidence when we booked our trip. I called twice to confirm and still had doubts - intuition, I guess.
