A Visit to the Museum

We were walking around the town of Inverness and saw the Old Court House Museum. The museum was very informative about a variety of subjects including displays of Elvis’s making a movie in the court house to archeological exhibits. There was a lot of displays and information. I would recommend over an hour to take it all in. In addition to the exhibits the building itself was very interesting.

    Inverness hidden treasure
The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum is the place to visit if you are an Elvis fan. The courthouse scene from Elvis' movie, Follow That Dream, was filmed on the second floor in the exact replica of the courthouse. The first floor of the museum has three separate rooms with one room hosting a wide variety of topics. The museum's website lists all the events scheduled for the museum with many of the events geared toward children. The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum is definitely worth a visit for history buffs.

    A Gem!
I used to ride past here when it was still active as a government office. The drive to preserve this beautiful building has been so encouraging, and the museum gives it appropriate purpose. It's worth the visit, along with shops and dining in the surrounding "courthouse square". Unlike a nearby city where the practically "buried" their historic CH with an attache "modern" building, this CH stands alone and is VERY photogenic!
