Well worth a destination vacation

Beach is beautiful and expansive. Public parking is rather limited unless you are a hotel or condo rental guest. Beach chairs w/umbrella rentals are available by the hour or for the day. Plenty of good shopping and dining options.

    Beautiful beach
    We stopped here on a cold day in March on a drive up the coast. We had visited once before 2 years prior and had hoped the pier was now open. Not only was the pier not open we found many restaurants on the water either closed for lunch or closed permanently. I am sure in warmer months it is busier. We parked in a public lot and headed over to the beach. We found it to be very clean and well maintained. There were a few flying kites but mostly it was people like us, bundled up taking a walk in a beautiful spot. But this beach is clearly much loved as even on thos cold day there were lots of people out enjoying the crashing waves. The beach is huge with so many entrances that even when busy, I cannot imagine not being able to find a spot to enjoy the day. Parking may be another story though as most of the beach area is lined with shops that have just a few parking spots noted as no beach parking. So plan for a bit of a walk, just in case. Maybe next time we will be able to bring the boogie boards and enjoy the water! @kristens_on_vacation IG

    Beautiful Beach!
    I now have been to both oceans on the coast and Jacksonville Beach is by far one of the best I have ever been on. It was very clean, uncrowded and lots of shells to pick up. They are rebuilding the pier that was damaged from the last hurricane, so was not able to go out on the pier. Lots of people walking, running and surfing at the beach, it was a very relaxing day at the beach. I cannot wait to go back.
