Hike with Mike!

Spent the morning hiking here with YouTube celeb "Hike with Mike" as our tour guide. 9,554 acres along the Withlacoochee River with 24 miles of roads and trails. We did about 10 miles and didn't even get halfway in. Mike took us to a gator hole full of baby gators, crossed the boardwalk over Mills Creek, and through some of the most beautiful forest in Florida. Restrooms and water available at check station. Excellent hike and not another soul in sight all morning. No that's good medicine. Thanks Mike! FREE Highly recommended!

Quiet, sandy trails in open forest. Cattle nearby.
Very pleasant peaceful walk on sandy trails in the open forest. The yellow trail (3.2 miles) was the one we took and it was well-blazed with scattered posts with arrows as well. Birdsong was lovely. For wildlife we only saw frogs and butterflies. Planning to return for the blue and the white trail. There are 3 creeks on the property which are accessible from the blue trail. At the entrance there is a 1.2 mile walk that seems good for families. Clean chemical toilet at the first parking area.

    Go early.
The pictures don’t look like the place. There are other paths we didn’t visit. But still there is no lake here. Lot’s of birds if you go early and are lucky. Entrance is on 603.
