    A Must See Adventure
The fort is one of the oldest in America, but is well preserved. It should be of interest to everyone from childen to seniors. There are volunters who dress in period costumes explaining the various rooms. There are exibits, incluging cannon shootings several times daily.

Many Reviews Here are Actually for Castillo de San Marcos
This was a very enjoyable visit to a small but cool Fort. Our 5 and 7 year olds enjoyed the fort and the boat ride to it. The Junior Ranger book was excellent at this location too, and because of it, we did the nice boardwalk through the Ocean Hammock (woods) and read the trail guide. Many of the reviews listed for Fort Matanzas are actually for the Castillo de San Marcos. If you are planning a trip, reviews that mention the ferry are for this sight, and anything mentioning downtown or a larger fort are for the Castillo. (Both are worth visiting.)
