A visit that is worth every penny
My second visit of this place and I really love it. Things have changed a bit post pandemic: you can no longer take videos (only pix) climb the rocks or sit in the furniture or visit “Ed’ s quarters” which is understandable because the place is really precious and it needs to be preserved. Our guide Andrea was great, funny, passionate and knowledgeable, she did a great job entertaining her group and sharing her knowledge. The gifts in the shop are very very nice but too expensive to my liking. The ticket to get in is under $20, good value for money. After the visit we were able to hang around a bit, I wanted to take pix of those amazing bi coloured lizards.

    A Strange and Fascinating Tour
My wife and I visited the Coral Castle on our recent visit to Homestead. The Coral Castle was built by Ed Leedskalnin in the early 20th Century. Ed built the Coral Castle as a monument to his lost love. He built it out of stone quarried on-site. He constructed the Castle out of multi-ton stones that he moved by himself. He often worked secretly and at night. The Castle is full of all kinds of interesting items including a 9 ton revolving gate, an astronomical stone that points toward the North Star, a large heart-shaped stone table, a bath tub, and many other unusual and beautiful items. The Coral Castle has a unique and fascinating beauty. Our visit included a guided tour. Our tour guide, Andrea, was very good. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She seemed to really enjoy sharing the Coral Castle with us. She did a great job. I can think of two drawbacks to our visit. Although our tour guide was terrific not all of the employees were as friendly and enthusiastic. Some others were a bit grumpy. Second is the price. It is a little more expensive than I think it should be. Of course this is my subjective opinion, but I paid less to get into other more extensive tours and locations on this same trip. Even though I think the price was higher than it should be we did really enjoy the visit and we are glad we went.
