Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, Florida, United States

5.0 (66 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #18 in Daytona Beach Art Museums • History Museums

Interesting

This is a private collection on display in a museum the owners built. It shows art from the earliest time when people first settled in Fla. Every painting reflects the history of what Fla.was like then to pretty much present day. The place is beautiful and relaxing allowing you to soak in the history. It was very nice. Good place to take visitors.

    Loved the FLorida Art
This museum has a nice selection of Florida related art. Artwork represents Volusia County, Key West, The Seminoles, the Everglades, and even Florida weather. It is located on the same "campus" as the Museum of Arts and Science.

    Great for rainy days
The Brown Museum of Art is a smallish art museum a few miles from the beach part of Daytona Beach. The collection is all Florida art, which is actually better than you might think. Quite a few late 1800s and early 1900s paintings of old Florida. It's a good rainy day activity. If you're really into art, it takes about 90 minutes to examine everything. Only complaint is the lack of a restaurant. There's a small cafe with coffee. Feels like a missed opportunity. I would have easily had lunch here if they had a real restaurant.
