This is a private collection on display in a museum the owners built. It shows art from the earliest time when people first settled in Fla. Every painting reflects the history of what Fla.was like then to pretty much present day. The place is beautiful and relaxing allowing you to soak in the history. It was very nice. Good place to take visitors. See more..

Daytona Beach has a rich and interesting history that would be forgotten if it were not for this gem of a museum. Set in a huge old bank building which has been preserved, the museum has collected artifacts from many periods of history in Daytona Beach. What you will learn here will surprise you. As a kid, I remember all the visits to the beach with my parents in the 60's, but I had no idea that Daytona was the home of the Women's Army Corps in WWII and more. There are great photographs of troops of women marching on the beaches and many artifacts from the war to remind us of how the U.S. had turned itselt into a fortress during the war. This is just a small part of what you wil experience here. The staff appears to be mostly experienced and enthusiastic volunteers from the local community. There is a small gift shop with some very interesting items for purchase. Come here when you are not in a hurry and want to spend some time doing a little time traveling back into history. See more..
