    Great street for a walk.
There are loads of good shops, restaurants, pubs and bars to look at and to try. The boardwalk is wide enough but there is always a lot of traffic. I recommend starting at the beach end and walking all the way to the Art Gallery, have some lunch and then walk back on the other side.

Apparently THE street to be on in Delray!
Atlantic Avenue seems to have it all - shopping, bars, restaurants, even galleries. I was shocked at how crowded it was - but then it does lead to the beach, so tourists seeking a respite from the sun flock here. We visited because on this street is a great needlepoint shop, ‘Stitches by the Sea,’ and I was looking for a belt canvas. There are a number of lovely canvasses there as well as yarns and flosses. The owners are very helpful, too. Even though that was our ultimate destination it was fun to see the other shops along the street. Traffic at the noon hour was crowded - as was the sidewalk. During the evening hours this street gets even more popular I’m told. Would be a fun place to wander again.
