Eclectic and off the wall
The Verbeke Foundation is an eclectic experience and totally off the wall. It is very different from a traditional museum and a "must see" if you are open minded and in the mood to be surprised at every corner. The owner is "hands on" so you are very likely to bump into him. It has a restaurant with simple food and good service.

Nice contemporary art collection
This site grew organically over the years and assembled a remarkable collection of modern art. Most of it is privately owned. What's on display varies from time to time. The main critique I have is that's it's not as well organized as what we are used to see from a heavily subsidized, professionally run museum.

For a few hours!
I visited the foundation on a Saturday, it was a bit busy. I have mixed feelings about the visit. Maybe I expected more of it. I visited already other open air musea in the world (like in Japan, Hakone) ..... Nevertheless I spend a few hours over here, some installations and pieces of art were really original.
