Beautiful parc, stunning views
The entrance is near a hotel, the outlet village and tourism office. At the start there is a playground and a bar. Income is 3 euro. Openinghours are the hours you can get in. You can always leave later, but better leave before it gets dark since there is no light. We did the 10,9km walk on Sunday afternoon, but took a shortcut, avoiding one of the hills.The hike goes around a lake and through the woods. It's all nature, there are no bars or other stops and very few benches. You better bring something to drink along. The way to the top of the hill (which are made out of coal-mine residu) is very steep, but the views are breathtaking, but for how long. Soon (2020) there will be a bungalowpark/ holiday village and a welnesscenter (2019). Although it will make a beautiful surrounding for a holiday, for the hiker nature will be spoiled by 250 small houses and even more tourists. SO GO NOW.

National Park's Diamond to Discover
Located within the National Park Hoge Kempen, Connecterra is a diamond worth discovering. It's entrance is under the former mine shafts which represent a historical landmark in Limburg. Inside Connecterra, there are colored walking trails that take you either alongside the lake or climbing up the terhils. Walking routes range from 4km to 11km and are all worth the walk. The views from the top of the terhils are worth the climb :-)
