Great place for cycling

Extremely nice park, the cycle tracks are very well kept and the signalling is just perfect (best in Belgium), very nice surroundings

excellent hikes
we chose the red indications as they offer the best diversity of the area. beautiful scenery, very well indicated

Great for an autumn stroll
The Mechelse Heide is one of the Hoge Kempen National Park gatways from where you can choose out of several hikes, different lenghts and landscapes. We enjoyed the "blue route" for an autumn stroll of 6km. We parked (free) near at the entrance where you can also find a small cafe called 't Salamanderke. The blue route takes you through the woods and moors and treats you to some beautiful views.
