    impressive
As recommended i visited it slowly and indeed it took me 2 hours. The combination of objects, mannequins and movies worked very well. I "relived" my entire history of what kind of person I have become and what kind of culture I am living in.

    A beautiful collection of history.
We visited on a week day during our summer vacation. Our two kids (6 & 8) did the audiotour for kids and a search called “Schatten van Vlieg”. At the end they got a reward. The search is only during July an August. It was nice the museum linked the theme of scent to their collection. This motivated the kids to stay busy and learn more. Throughout the museum are also interactive screens for kids. I think our kids found those more interesting than the audiotour. The audiotour for adults is very extensive. You will learn a lot about history. You can decide to learn about everything or just the highlights. Since the museum has a very big collection, I would suggest starting with the highlights. A lot of the info gets repeated at the start. When you get to the Roman times they have a lot more specific objects and it becomes more interesting again to listen to everything. With kids it is difficult to listen to everything because it moves really slowly. When we visited it was also very hot inside. They have airco, but when it gets really warm in the summer, it’s not enough. The staff of the museum was very friendly and helpful.
