Very pleasant cycling
This path 'through the water' is about 7 km outside Hasselt. You can drive out and park the car nearby then walk through, or else cycle out there. There are a variety of cycling circuits of varying lengths starting in Hasselt that will take you via the cycling through water location. We did the 23km circuit and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cycling was easy and the scenery beautiful. Once you get to the little lake or pond where they have built the cycle path through the middle, you will find that there are numerous waterbirds. Cycling though it is even cooler than it looks. Your head is right at water level and the birds are very close. There are also benches by the side of the water to just sit and enjoy the natural beauty of the place. The route also takes you past numerous other gorgeous ponds / lakes / marshes ( not sure what I should call them). It makes for a thoroughly enjoyable half-day.

Enchanting busy area
Busy at sunny days with everybody standing in your way to get across the pond, but very nicely done. Area is very peaceful and enchanting.
