Extremely interesting Jewish historical site in Sarajevo

This museum has many interesting artifacts as well as information about the Jews of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's also the first and oldest synagogue in Sarajevo and was built in the 16th century. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in the Jewish history of Sarajevo as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    Pleasant Surprise
    We weren’t expecting much as the admission price is only $1.80 USD. It turned out to be a great deal however. The guy who sold us our tickets spent a few minutes giving us an overview of the museum and the history of Jews in Sarajevo. We then toured on our own. The museum includes the synagogue and has 3 floors. Signage has English descriptions. Everything was well organized and nicely done. We were the only visitors when we visited which was a little disappointing. We liked it a lot and highly recommend it.

    Good Museum
    There is a Museum of the Jews of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was the oldest Synagogue in Sarajevo and now is a museum. For 10 marks you get entry to this Museum and to 4 others; svrzo, despic, brusa bezistan, and museum of Sarajevo (1878 to 1914). There are pictures and items inside from the past.
