Temple dedicated to the memory of Augustus

I have a suggestion. If this historic monument is not really a temple to Diana, but rather a temple to Augustus, then let’s call it so? I don’t know exactly how it was done , but I’m always impressed by the details in the decorations/carvings at the top of the columns and the architrave. Based upon readings, I keep wanting to conclude Augustus was much loved by all the Romans. In this case, it was the retired military personnel building this temple in his memory or honor.

    Superb Preservation
During the time of our visit the Temple grounds were also hosting a Prado In The Park exhibition. Recreations of famous painting on display in the Prado were arranged along the sides of the Temple. Temple itself is very impressive and well preserved.

    Attractive semi-complete temple
The temple can be see adequately from the street. Part of the original temple became a renaissance house and the ‘entrance’ included in your combined ticket is really for the house. Most info is in Spanish only. Most exciting is to watch the hydraulic staircase go up or down at opening and closing times
