Great side trip from Caceres
The National Park of Los Barruecos is located just west of Caceres, a short 15 minute drive. Prehistoric rock formations of unusual shapes are the main attractions. You can park your car inside the park and take one of the two sighseeing paths, the shortest one is about 45 minutes. Of interest is also the Vostrell Museam which is located inside the park.

Visit of the Nature park "Los Barruecos".
The natural environment of “Los Barruecos” is at only a few km by car from the city of Cáceres, next door to Malpartida de Cáceres. It has being declared a “Natural Monument” and this in the year 1996 with the aim of protecting the special geology of the area, as well as the flora, fauna and archaeological remains found in Los Barruecos. It got his name due to the following: a berrueco is a large isolated granite rock. This is a very nice location, especially for nature lovers, you can see horses, you also have the “Stork wetland”, small museum etc. You have enough space to let the car.
