A Bracing Early Morning Walk

We visited Navaconcejo in August so we knew to expect high temperatures and low water levels but wanted to see the falls nonetheless. In order to avoid the heat of the day, we set off at 7:00 AM by torchlight! That added to the excitement but It was soon light enough to dispense with the torches. There wasn’t a great volume of water but it was easy to imagine how spectacular the sights would’ve been earlier in the year. Including a few pauses and rests at viewing points, it took us about two hours to complete the whole trip. The path ascends quite steeply but isn’t technically challenging. Muy Bonito!

    Waterfalls for all
Lots of waterfalls along the suggested route. Being one of the most accessible mountain gorges makes the place very visited and overcrowded which makes it difficult to connect with the beautiful surrounding nature. We also found some trash and lots of visible hoses all over the water course. Beautiful but without standing out compared with others more inhospitable in the Valle del Jerte Mountains.
