Beautiful and unique tradition on the verge of disappearing
This is an unique place which makes you ponder about art and its destiny with time - in the era of modernization and globalization. These colorful, elaborated kilims and rugs are the products of Kurdistan nomadic life style which will not survive in the 21st century. The beauty we perceive from these textile is intertwined with our nostalgic feeling towards their way of life - which had to be lost for many reasons. A visit to the second floor cafe and some panels there will give you more information about their culture and how / why these textiles were produced. It made me feel like I am standing in front of an animal who is going to extinct or already gone from this planet.

Small & cute museum
Small and cute museum inside Erbil citadelle 1000 IQD . Interesting informations focus on local carpets, tribes , traditional way of life . Unfortunately we haven’t seen artisanal weavers or demonstration … only exhibition .
