A magical stop of the highway

Wanderful place to stop for a cool eat and rest on the way from the East to the West if you dont want to eat in the Tourist trap of Matsuvu and if you have your own food with you or "take away" food from Matsuvu. A big blue lake that have places to go near the water ( not for sweeming but can cool your feets) . Just find shade and put some cloth on the ground. We spend there an hour ( 20 min from the main highway) and went back to the highway)

    Beautiful warm clear waters!
    Perfect huge lake to swim or to do SUP (paddleboarding). Would recommend visiting if you are in the area. I would recommend lake shoes to get in as it can be a little muddy around the entrance of the lake, but you can swim safely and easily through the lake. Water was warm in august with a slight wind at some points.

    Alpine scenery
    Just a short drive from Metsovo you'll find the artificial lake of the river Aoos (pronounced A-o-os). It's an alpine scenery you shouldn't miss. If the weather permits it, do the whole round of the lake, the road is fine. Bring your picnic, as there are nice spots on the north side. Flies might be a problem in the summer, as there are cattle grazing in the area. Drive a few kilometres to the west and you'll find the little pond called Zorica on your right, just before the junction. If you are lucky, you might catch the water lilies blooming.
