Put your hiking shoes on
We went to Padar on our way to Komodo Island. If you time your departure from Labuan Bajo right, you won't have many people to contend with while walking up the narrow steps. If you arrive at the same time as several "cattle boats," you will be trying to walk up the 800+ steps while passing or being passed by many people. Saw a few people there with flip-flop sandals. I would highly recommend wearing some decent tennis shoes, as the steps are not nice, poured concrete. They are rough, uneven stone steps. I saw a couple people bringing very small children and starting the trek up the hill. I wondered how far they would get before they realized it wasn't an appropriate hike for small kids. Once you get to the top,you can see three different bays, each with a different colored sand (black, white, and pink). The view is great, but you are going to work for it. The ticket you have to buy from the Park Service allows you to get onto Komodo Island too, if you are going there afterwards. There is a bathroom at the bottom of the hill near the docks if you need it, but once you get near it, especially if you are downwind, you will probably only want to use it if it is a dire emergency. I'd definitely climb to the top on Padar Island again. I would not recommend it for everyone. You don't need to be an athlete to make it to the top, but you probably need to be in decent health.

Triple bay
This is one of the best view in Indonesia. It spend 2-4 hours from Labuan Bajo by boat depend on the speed of the boat and the wave. So, it will better to go in early morning to give you more time to explore the island and avoid sun heat and crowd. From the beach you must walk up the hill via hundreds of steps. There are at least 3 stops that you can see great view, but I suggest you go directly to the top and enjoy the the other stops when you step down. At the top, you will see the famous triple bay of Padar Island. After finish your visit, you can enjoy coconut at the beach. And if you are lucky you will meet some deer.
