    Disappointing
We think the building is unattractive concrete is not a good medium to impress inside is much better architecturally but the displays are underwhelming most of internal space given over to plastic exhibition which is expensive. Only worth visiting if you want to kill some time in poor weather.the discovery next door is much easier on the eye but maybe I’m just old fashioned

    Boring
I had high hopes for this coming to Dundee, but unfortunately after a few visits it gets more and more boring. More than 1/2 the building is an entrance hall with basic coffee cafe and overpriced gift shop. With the height of this space they could really do something amazing in this space but it is always just full of little noticeboards which don't add anything to the rather empty feeling room. Hardly any windows overlooking the river. Upstairs is a more formal cafe, however staff always seem rushed and therefore rude, even when the cafe is empty. Again, little views to the river as the windows face the neighbouring discovery boat and train station. Exhibits have been hit and miss - first one on boats was great as it had a mix of information for all and displayed well. All others have been getting worse, with poor displays and very repetitive information... the one on nightclubs was a load of poor quality photos!!! Charging £16 to a small exhibition, especially in Dundee seems unreasonable - definitely more for tourists than locals. Permanent exhibition has items loosely connected to Scotland. Not much connection to Dundee, and not changed since it opened 5 (?) years ago. MacIntosh replica room is interesting - shows the comparison to what old buildings used to be! If visiting Dundee then focus your visit on a visit to the Discovery which has a rich history of Dundee, have a walk around the outside of the V&A and have a coffee and bagel van around the side of the V&A while sitting overlooking the river, then walk up to the McManus for interesting exhibitions. If you have time then visit DCA when an exhibition is on.
