Visit in the correct season for an enjoyable experience.
Both the palace and the gardens are a must see when in the area. I visited in May and it was perfect. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as the gardens are huge, make sure you have a few hours available to visit the entire complex. Tickets are quite expensive - but it is worth it, in my opinion. The palace is not quite a palace/castle - but rather a villa, set your expectations so that you don't feel disappointed. The history of the place is amazing and for me it was worth it.

Beautiful scenery
Nice place to visit. Check the weather. It’s an outdoor activity. A lot of walking/climbing, so wear comfortable shoes. Beautiful scenery for photographers. The reason I’ll not give 5 stars, it’s the no-sense two different queues for the the same place! You can’t enter separate the palace and the botanical garden, but you must buy two different tickets! Cards are NOT accepted, so be prepared with cash. Also there is no any signposts to guide you where to walk! That’s ridiculous for this type of attraction! We spent walking 2-3 hours up and down, left and right and at the end when almost about to go, we realized we missed the cactus garden! No one wanted to climb back again......

Nice trip
It was a bit annoying that they do not have POS at the entrance and you need to get cash, which may be a bit difficult. Otherwise, the place is great, very relaxing on a hot summer day. I got to taste fig and rose icecream, plus rose water (a bit pricey, but worth it), I tasted the wines at the winery (the hosts were great and knew Romanian), and the atmosphere is really cool. I would go again.
