    Excellent museum
    The museum is dedicated to the leading Turkish poet, novelist and translator Cahit Taranci who was born in 1910 in Diyarbakir. The museum is in an old Diyarbakir home and is beautifully restored. The architecture is wonderful and uses the local black basalt stone. The displays are located in various rooms going out of a courtyard and garden. You will learn about the culture of the area and upstairs the works of Taranci is beautifully displayed. The displays are mostly in Turkish but one of his poems has been translated into English and gives you a feeling of his work and the family photos helps to tell the story of his life. We visited in May of 2015 and the renovations were all done and there was no entrance fee.
