Zlatni Rat Beach (Golden Horn), Dalmatia, Croatia
4.0 (3.182 reviews) Spent Ranking #4 in Split-Dalmatia County Beaches
Off season view of a delightful beach.
We took our car on the morning ferry($55) from Split and drove 37 km over the island to Bol and down to this popular beach. It was quiet with free access in the off season especially with today’s light rain. We walked the overlook to view the nudist beach and the beautiful 400 m “Tongue of the Golden Gate” which from this distance could be delightful sand but in reality is made up of small pebbles. Nice stone church from 1720 with cats in control and an odd bronze monument of a basket carrying donkey.

Great beach, too crowded
This beach is a real beauty, especially if you take a walk in the morning when it is empty. Prices are decent for what is offering (210 kuna for 2 beds and an umbrella) and you can also sit at the shade of trees. However, in this pandemic times, it was very crowded. People were putting their towels between the chairs, without any number limit existing there. We did not feel very safe. There are some options for bars but are mostly fully occupied so you can go and order something to eat or drink from carts nearby. Toilets and showers are not free and not really on the beach (you need to walk 5-10 minutes).
