Stunning park , overly complex entrance admin!

This is a beautiful national park with stunning views, well worth a visit. It’s very easy to get to on Andesmar bus (5.55 am at time of writing ) Be warned - buy your park ticket on line in advance as there is no way to pay at the entrance, and online requires the mercadopago app which no one could get (only foreigners at the time of our arrival). Many groups were stuck at the entrance trying to contact Argentinian friends to pay for them. Once this hurdle was out of the way the walk around the park was spectacular. Unfortunately Confluencia (base camp) wasn’t open - though not obvious on the website, so worth checking before you travel. Rumours are it opens tomorrow!

    Amazing Mountain hike
    Amazing. The weather was great. There are a variety of hikes from 1.5 hours to 11 hours (return). Something for everyone. The short trail is easily hike-able by almost anyone. BEWARE: If you go on your own, make sure you find out how to register in advance, ESPECIALLY if you don't speak Spanish. Luckily our driver was able to get our entrance tickets for us. (See review of Blue Valley Mendoza Tours for a review of an awesome tour guide) The mountains are stunning and the trails well maintained.

    Family adventures
    It is an incredible region with beautiful landscapes and perfect for family adventures. We took a tour with a tourist group but it is possible to do it by yourself if you are driving. The script is simple and you can map the points of interest in the GPS. We do not recommend the lunch offered by the tour guide at the restaurant near the border with Chile, the food is expensive, low quality and without options.
