Lovely Scenic Views
Agios Nikolaos is generally known because of it's Lagoon or lake feature, but for me, the long promenade walk around the Mirabello Bay is much better and the views are very nice to behold. You can set off from the harbour in town and walk all the way to Ammoudi beach, well worth doing if you like walking and/or scenery.

Beautiful and relaxing place
Mirabello is a beautiful and relaxing bay. We enjoy coming here for our holidays because there is often a nice sea breeze which means despite the Crete good weather, it's not intolerably hot! though quite a few tourists didn't seem to like this and would usually retreat to the hotel. The sea is crystal clear and is good for using snorkels. We saw a few schools of fish and a couple of larger ones. The sea was nice and warm, much more pleasant that the hotel swimming pool.

Wonderful Experience
Beautiful picturesque place. Agios Nikolaos is so beautiful, especially The Lake area. Easy to walk around, walk through the Marina and exit onto the road behind the yacht club, turn right and enjoy the walk around the bay, stunning and very easy to do.
