Wonderful Fishing, Great Views, and Knowledgeable Guides!

My family has been visiting the town of Cooper Landing for many years and we always book at least one evening fishing trip for when we are there! John and Heather both do a great job making us feel welcome. John is very knowledgeable and loves to share stories, answer any questions, and help you catch as many fish as possible! John knows all of the hot spots and was able to get a limit of salmon for me and my wife even when we were there more than a week before "prime" fishing! We will definitely be going back. The rest of the town is great too. Lots of fun and friendly people, great food and drinks at any of the restaurants and bars in the area. The views never get old!

    Big Fish Big Times
Having fished with John's family for over a decade, there is a reason I keep returning! "There's a land where the mountains are nameless Where the rivers run gods knows where The summer no sweeter was ever the sunshiny woods all a thrill the grayling a leap in the river the big horn asleep on the hill" Robert Service 1898 Cooper Landing is one of the most beautiful places in Alaska and after living in Alaska for 30 years, I have seen a good bit of the state. The Kenai River is breath taking, the mountains, the wild life and of course world class fishing with no motor boats allowed. It is where I go to center myself to let my heart live and my mind free itself of worry and stress. It is where real life happens in a sunset or moon rise over a river. As Norman Mclean says "eventually all things merge into one and a river runs through it." That little boy who first learned of the wonder of the world fishing with his grand father for perch in the south still finds endless magic in catching salmon and trout on the upper Kenai River. Having John's endless smile and infectious laugh to guide you through all the wonder and magic of a day on the Kenai is more than a complete novice or world-class fisher-person could hope for.
