Very special place with a lot of history
Warappa Kreek and Bakkie are located off the beaten track and only reachable (for now) by boat. After a beautiful boatride over the Commewijne river you arrive in a quiet place full with history; the owners have restored the old plantation buildings and have created a beautiful and peaceful place rich in history and close to nature. From Bakkie you can make a boat ride (which we did) through the restored Warappa Kreek all the way to the sea. This boat ride takes you through beautiful Mangrove Forests and wetlands teeming with birdlife! The owners of Bakkie are really friendly and are willing to share lots of information about the history of the place. They have build a couple of beautiful lodges on the old plantation. This place is a must-see for nature lovers and people who like quiet places off the beaten track.

Warappa, a great way to see nature!
Warappa Kreek is the creek connecting Plantation Bakkie with the ocean. The creek has been excavated in recent years and allow visitors to move by boat through this interesting jungle and swamp area with a chance to see interesting birds and animals. Consider to visit the Warappa Kreek when visiting Plantation Bakkie or nearby Frederiksdorp.
