Perfect Ski Resort for a family!
It was our first time to ski at Wolf Creek and our experience couldn’t have been better! With three kids ages five and under we mainly lived at the magic carpet for two days straight. The first day, Rick was working at the bottom of the magic carpet we had the pleasure of getting to know him! He was great with the kids and knew them all by name. The next day he happened to be walking by and saw our family and stopped to watch the kids ‘ progress and cheer them on! Our second day on the mountain Scott was working the magic carpet. Where to even start with him… He was a hoot!! He got to know the kids, gave us all tips on how to be better, and entertained us with his dancing. At the end of the day he gave the kids Wolf Creek metals for their ski jackets. We had the best experience there and will definitely be back next year!

Great place for tree skiing on a college budget
As avid skiers, we look for fun terrain and good, plentiful snow. For 20-21, snow is in short supply. But at wolf creek there is plenty! Love the tree skiing at this place. Alberta lift is awesome for getting out in solitude on the mountain and skiing through trees and moguls and trails on the way down. Such fun! Plenty of terrain for a couple days of skiing, and while we didn’t have a powder day, this place would be spectacular on a powder day with so much space in the trees. Beautiful Mountain View’s from the top. Skiing in general is expensive. Yet this place is modest and ‘affordable’ for skiing, with $80 weekday lift tix and $90 wkd tix. Can ski here for two days for the price of one in summit county. Well worth it! It’s not a fancy resort, but a ‘skiers place’. Skiing on a college budget. While no lodging at the place, get over it, cuz of the skiing. Stay half hour to hour away in Pagosa springs, Alamosa, or further in Durango. The drive is beautiful. We drove all the way down from Denver after skiing a day in summit county. This place the snow was better, softer and more plentiful. So much fun skiing! Only issue: on wkds the lifts near the lodge can get backed up some. Probably cuz most of the greens are there. But the back country lifts don’t! (Bonus for the blue and black run skiers).
