    Beautiful Urban Ride
I've already given a rather reserved review of the Pinellas Trail, the big brother of this, the Ream Wilson Trail. As I observed the Pinellas Trail has the advantage of being quite long and near restaurants and cafes. However, the trail itself is rather monotonous unless one gets off it and observes the neighborhoods. The Ream Wilson Trail, on the other hand is just the opposite: it is fairly short but wanders through one of the nicest environments I have found inside a city's limits. We managed to make the route about 8 miles each way by starting at the southern tip of the Duke/Progress Trail which connects to the Ream Wilson Trail proper. The trail wanders through a disc golf park, through live oak forests and past softball fields. Then, when the Trail officially ends, we continued on along Bayshore Boulevard until the community of Safety Harbor. We ate delicious sandwiches at The Sandwich on Main. We could have eaten at any of the other interesting cafes along or just off Main Street. The community is worth taking time to know with it's concentration on local merchants, art shops and pilates studios. It turns out many of the owners are transplanted Northerners who just wanted to escape the pace of the North. We explored the side streets on our bikes for another 40 minutes or so (check out some of the houses that face on to the bay on N Bayshore Blvd) and then headed home. All told we did about 20 miles of extremely interesting biking.
