    Wonderful Small Venue
The Capitol Theater in downtown Clearwater was an unknown, hidden gem for me until this last week, when we caught concerts by Lyle Lovett and Rodney Crowell on two separate nights. Wonderful place to listen to music, with excellent acoustics. Seating only 750 people, there's really not a bad seat in the house. There's public parking within a block or two, or you can spring for valet. Also, several restaurants on the same block for pre-show eats. The Capitol is managed by Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, and typically books artists who may not have the drawing power to fill Ruth Eckerd, which has three times the seating capacity. Consequently, you can get great seats for great acts in a much more intimate setting. We have two more concerts booked there in the next couple of months, and we're looking forward to them, also, particularly since we had such a good time at our first experiences here..

Amazing place to see concerts, comedy and more!!!
I'm a local to this theater and have seen it through several of its iterations. Right now it is my favorite small venue to see concerts. This building is one hundred years old and has so much amazing history. We've seen Tower of Power, Henry Winkler, and Mindi Abair, to name a few. You get an intimate performance and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We like sitting in the Loge seats, if available but you have an unimpeded view no matter where you sit. The acoustics are fantastic and the staff is always amenable. Downtown Clearwater views from the rooftop bar are stellar! If you love music and want a unique experience, check out the Bilheimer Capitol Theater!!!!!
