Quite impressive
We took the coach from 陳家坪 bus station to Dazu bus terminal, then city bus 205 to Baodingshan rock carving scenic area. We bought the combination ticket to both Baodingshan & Beishan sites. The carvings at Baoding are more massive & colorful. I was surprised that we could get so close to the carvings. Of course, crowds were everywhere. There was not too much walking involved & shuttles were available. Grounds are well kept.

one of the best attractions in the rural area near dazu.exelent in all categories,art,education,view,religion.in my opinion it's a must. the art part is superb,but above all the stories of the carvings and the morals that are reflected

Dazu Rock Carvings Superb
This UNESCO World Heritage Site deserves its status. The carvings, dating from the 7th century, are exquisite. They show humanity and its vices and the synthesis of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. In that, they demonstrate the concept of harmony that is so fundamental to the Chinese civilization and its people.
