Nagi of Mekong Cruise, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand
5.0 (92 reviews) Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent Ranking #1 in Chiang Khong Boat Tours
Highlight of my trip
If you consider doing the cruise I can absolutely recommend doing it! The best part is that you are going to meet other travellers of all age groups and from all over the world and at the end of the cruise they are going to feel like family. It was absolutely worth paying the extra money because it will be much more comfortable, you will be served very tasty food and it includes an accomodation. In addition to that you will learn many things about Lao culture and history during your cruise and make interesting stops along the way. Generally it is a beautiful way to travel Laos and time is going to fly by as the views get better and better. Thank you for the flawless experience.

Relaxing and Scenic
Very well run company. We were picked up from our hotel in Chiang Khlong and ushered through the border crossing. Actually, when we checked into the hotel, an envelope was at the front desk with our names with all Thai exit and Laotian entrance forms to fill out. On board we were assigned seats with common table which we kept the entire cruiser. Two restrooms available and were maintained throughout the cruise. I thought first lunch was a little watered down but second day lunch made up for it. Both days there was plenty of food for second helpings. Offloading midway for the overnight in Pak Bang was really chaotic especially with local men grabbing suitcases. Well, it’s probably best to let them carry the suitcases up two steep hills. Well worth a tip and they are eager to make money. Our stops along the way were interesting. At landing in Luang Prabang, our tour facilitator had it well organized so that people staying in geographically close guest houses were in the same van. I suggest you ask for enough life jackets for persons in your party.

Mekong Slow Boat
Fantastic trip. Beautiful scenery. Excellent food. The only thing that took away from the trip was the stop at the first village. It felt awkward to enter a poor village and be taken around it by a tour guide.
