Experience of a different life style
I waked up in the morning having 10 hours time in hand before my schedule departure from George Bush Int airport, Houston, TX to Dhaka, Bangladesh. 2 options came in mind, go shopping OR experience some Ranch life of Texas as I used to read n saw, lot of books n movies based on western cow boys and rancher's life...so my heart was pushing me to have that experience on my first trip to Houston. So use google...'Ranch in 100 miles of Houston'...several options came n after few minutes of browsing...I found the place where my heart want to go...'Texas Ranch Life'...only 104 km from my hotel, around 1 hour drive. Picked the phone, the lady other side was so kind and allowed me to visit with such a short notice...when I first reached there ...the view n greenery was awesome , very quite n very peaceful environment....beautiful horses are free n enjoying sun ....than came the surprise....a man walked towards me and exactly same I had in my mind from my young age as a western ranch owner ...blue jeans, tshirt and cow boy hat on , slim and tall...he was John , the owner of the ranch. He also our tour guide for a Kawasaki ride. He took 2 hours ( though standard is 1 hour tour ) to show every part of the huge 1800 acre ranch and it was a unforgettable experience, I know about the history of the ranch, how they maintain the horses, how 400+ long horn buffalos were maintained there, how the jungles are growing naturally....so many informations. I found they also have very nice accommodations for night stay and also had arrangement for lot of other activities for both family n kids. It was not That i imagined in my mind that ranch means dry, deserts, gun fights all these...but Mr John explained us very well that this is actually what a Ranch means...it's an totally different experience for me and I loved it...

    Fourth annual fishing trip
My best friend and i had our fourth annual fishing trip at Texas Ranch Life this July. This time we stayed at the Lake House that is peaceful and secluded. The fishing lake is directly behind the house so It is very convenient. The accommodations were great and we slept good after three days of fishing. We caught tons of bass, crappie and perch on a variety of baits. It is thrilling to catch the bass on top-water lures. Plastic worms and spinner baits were also very effective. We enjoyed watching the longhorn cattle walk around the lake and wade out to drink. It was nice to hear the birds, especially the quail, chirping as well as the frogs around dusk. Thanks to Taunia and John for another awesome trip. I can't wait until next year!
