Starry eyed and cool in August
We were totally enchanted by the Japanese connection; Sugihara story to save Lithuanian Jews, the Japanese garden significance and the art of origami was a nice beginning. The theatre seats were perfect for star gazing and dreaming of planets from afar. Will definitely return when they advertise special exhibits. Here is a very cool place to be in the hot August season and there is something for all ages. We were a group of 4 retired seniors with a private English guide. Next time we want to bring our grandchildren

Cute for young kids
We took the kids, ages 4.5 and 5.5, to Planetanya. During the Sukkot holiday. They had age appropriate activities for kids 4-8. There we’re a couple of art projects like building their own spaceship and a project demonstrating a solar eclipse because there’s an upcoming one on the 26th. There were also activities around the importance of cleaning up space garbage and the impact it will have communication. The kids enjoyed a short film on space exploration with 360 degree, domed screen. The film is okay and should be improved but the screen idea was cool. It needs better execution. The museum has ample parking. You must book ahead of time.

Planetanya disappointed
Parents coming to visit from outside of town should know that the actual film shown inside the dome theater of this attraction is only 15 minutes long! This was hugely disappointing since this was the main purpose of our visit, not the different stations they had set up in the main corridor (cutting out a sun dial, VR station, dress up as an astronaut). In addition, the mini plays which were about topics related to space lacked quality, to say the least. I was much more impressed with the planetarium in Ramat Aviv.
