Interesting exhibits (with some english) & great views. Free entry: Sundays & Wednesday afternoons.
We visited as a family group: 2 kids and 5 adults, walking from Plaza Mayor. The walk is quite long with a steep downhill section from plaza mayor and then a steep uphill section going up to the museum (and very little shade). Unfortunately we followed google maps which led us to what was a locked gate a way off from the actual entrance of the museum. If you are walking there head for the intersection of Calle de Rio Gritos and Camino Deposito (there is also a bus stop on Calle de Las Torcas, very close to corner). Once inside we were very pleased to discover that entry was free for all as it was Sunday (they are only open until 2pm on Sundays)! We were lucky to arrive when there was a lady working who spoke a good amount of English. She was happy to provide a summary of the museum in English for us as most of our group could speak no Spanish. There were about 5 different exhibit spaces that covered topics such as: trilobites, findings from the Las Hoyas archaeological dig including the Concavenator corcovatus "the hunchback hunter from Cuenca" and exhibits explaining the main dinosaur periods. There was a good amount of English labels on all but one of the exhibits. The exhibits are quite varied and (with 2 exceptions of plastic models), there is no photography allowed in the museum. The cafe / restaurant is not yet open to the public. There was a food / drinks vending machine. We thought it strange that the museum seemed to be refurbishing some exhibits as it is a fairly new museum. There are toilets available inside. The landscaping outside the museum is lovely with some life size dinosaur models which make for interesting photos in front of the great views of Cuenca's old town. We spent about 1 hour at the museum and that was enough time to enjoy the main exhibits and take in the views.
