    A historical neighborhood above all
Dating back to the 18th Century and beyond, San Telmo neighborhood is an open air museum, with homes from the time of the Spaniard colonization, some of them turned into museums. There is the Antiques fair, for which the street and the neighborhood are more known about. The Parque Lezama is near by, one of the biggest parks in town, worth see it.

Day and night bucket of fun!
Unbeknownst to me, my room looked down on Calle Defensa. I thought on Saturday that the market around the corner at the plaza was the market I had remembered reading about when researching my trip. I thought to myself “how lucky”! Lots of great vintage stuff. Come Sunday I realize the market was really a much, much bigger affair. I walked for blocks and blocks. The stalls were a lot more interesting than most. In the evening, drummers march down the street in unison in large numbers for hours. That was pretty cool. I really enjoyed exploring Calle Defensa from one end to the other.
