Hidden Gem
Incredible quality art experience just outside Zurich in a former private home with kind and helpful staff and a cute cafe. For two hours we were the only visitors in the galleries. Highlights of the collection: A pair of Van Gogh oil paintings of the asylum experience--one inside the facility and the other outside in the garden. Also saw two Van Gogh drawings which were exceptionally beautiful and rare. Mostly well known European artists of the 17th-19th Centuries. Nice walk in the garden and and we picked a few quince and apples from the orchard.

Amazing collection - truly world class! Thank you Oskar Reinhart!
The collection was Herr Reinhart's personal choice - and did he have an eye!!! Some of the most beautiful Cezannes I've seen anywhere, and unusual Van Gogh's not seen in major exhibitions of the artist's work, including in London.. As per my previous reviews of Art in Winterthur - well worth the trip. There is a very good 'bus' which will get you from the station to Am Romerholz, and/or from the more central art museums to Am Romerholz and back to the station. They run once an hour and the journey is c 15 minutes.

Art & Architecture...
An outstanding small collection of art within a beautiful villa overlooking Winterthur. Relaxing, quiet and a truly must see experience. The cafe is also well worth a visit offering a small selection of freshly prepared meals, cakes & coffee and wines & spirits.
